Accessibility

1. Our goal

Bintel Inc. (“Bintel”) wants the Services, including https://cwpp.us and the public pages organizations publish on it, to be usable by everyone. We design and test against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as our target.

2. Where we are today

The Services have not yet been independently audited, and we do not claim full conformance with WCAG 2.2 AA. Parts we know are harder to use with assistive technology:

• Interactive maps. A map conveys location visually; screen-reader and keyboard access to individual map features is limited. Where an organization publishes an advisory, its text, affected areas and links are also given as text on the page.
• Content uploaded by organizations — PDFs, scanned documents, photographs, imagery and data files — is created by that organization, and its accessibility depends on how it was made.
• Live rooms (voice, video and shared boards) and session recordings of them.

3. Public agencies and official notices

When a public agency publishes an advisory, notice, form or document on the Services, the agency is the publisher of that content and is responsible for its accessibility obligations under the laws that apply to it, such as Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508. Bintel will work with the agency to fix barriers in the Services themselves.

4. Asking for help or another format

If you cannot use part of the Services, or need information from a map, advisory, form or document in another format, email thomas.marsh@bintel.io and tell us the page address and what you were trying to do. We will respond as soon as we can and, where the content belongs to an organization, pass your request to it. In an emergency, do not wait for a reply: call 911 or contact the agency that issued the notice directly.
