The Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for Berthoud Fire Protection District (BFPD) is currently being developed and will serve as a strategic document focused on supporting life safety and residential property preservation with respect to wildfire. The CWPP requires close collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies along with community members to identify and prioritize areas at risk. The plan will recommend specific actions for hazardous fuel reduction, suppression resources, public outreach and education, and structural ignitability reduction to guide the community in building resilience against wildland fires.
