The MTNT Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) project is a newly launched hazard-mitigation initiative protecting the remote interior Alaska villages of McGrath, Takotna, Nikolai, and Telida. Because this area sits outside traditional county or fire district jurisdictions, the project establishes a centralized regional framework to identify fire risks, map critical infrastructure, and prioritize local fuel reduction efforts.
