Reducing the grass fuel load around the habitat trees can help reduce the amount of work needed in habitat. For the general area, I would recommend either cleaning up the understory around the habitat trees, including limbing and pruning; or reduce the grass. Both would be best, but the tall grass would make it easy for fire to carry through this site.
